Housed in the condominium of the Lula government, the group from União Brasil proves to be an uncomfortable tenant. The caption arrived with an embarrassing past, likes to party, hangs out with unwanted friends, has a family that doesn’t get along and, to make matters worse, shows signs that he doesn’t have the funds to pay all the rent.

Lula ceded three ministries to União Brasil with the hope of convincing a good part of his 59 deputies and 9 senators to vote in favor of the government’s projects. The legend is not only far from delivering this support, but also became an early source of headache for the Planalto.

In the first weeks of its term, the Sheet reported that the Minister of Tourism, Daniela Carneiro, was elected deputy with the support of a group that has links with a militia that operates in Rio.

The president warned aides that he would like to prevent accusations against ministers from becoming a political problem for the government. For the time being, however, Lula prefers to absorb these wear and tear.

The petista told allies that it is too early to set the precedent of removing ministers based on cases that have not yet had an outcome – which would jeopardize other subordinates that he is not willing to dismiss.

In addition, the president wants to measure the support that the Union benches can give to the government in the first weighty votes. An exchange of positions would only take place to attract the support of other party groups or more legends from the centrão.
