Uefa to reimburse Liverpool fans for chaos in 2022 Champions League final

A uefa announced that it will reimburse Liverpool fans who attended the Champions League from last year in Paris, after an independent report said European football’s governing body was responsible for the chaos outside the stadium.
The final was postponed for 36 minutes after thousands of fans Liverpool unable to get into the Stade de France for the match on 28 May, won by Real Madrid by 1 to 0.
French police were filmed using tear gas against fans, including women and children. While UEFA initially blamed the club’s supporters for the chaos, it later apologized following the release of an independent analysis.
“We have taken into account a large number of opinions expressed both publicly and privately and believe we have created a comprehensive and fair scheme”UEFA general secretary Theodore Theodoridis said in a statement. “We recognize the negative experiences of those fans on the day and with this scheme we will reimburse the fans who bought tickets and who were the most affected by the difficulties in accessing the stadium”.
UEFA said refunds will be available to all fans with tickets for gates A, B, C, X, Y and Z, where “the most difficult circumstances were reported”. Liverpool fans were allocated 19,618 tickets for the final.
