In the audios, the player acknowledged that he lied in his first statement
This Wednesday (5), the program ‘Código 10’, on Spanish TV, released some statements by Daniel Alves before the Court of Instruction in Barcelona. In shared audios, the side defends itself against the rape charge and reinforces that the relationship between the two was consensual.
“Nothing happened that we didn’t want. I always treated her with great respect. (…) I asked her twice if she was enjoying it and she said yes. (…) At the end, I got up (…). Neither in the cabin nor in the bathroom, she never told me to stop any action.”
declared Daniel.
During the continuation of the report, Daniel Alves stated that the alleged victim may have been irritated by the player’s attitude. “I left the cabin. And then she left. I suppose angry at my attitude. I was an accomplice of the will that (she) had or of what I had”he said.
Still in the released audios, the player acknowledged that he lied in his first statement. According to him, his first version, in which he denied having had a sexual relationship with the young woman, was thought to save his marriage to Joana Sanz.
“I cannot ratify my first declaration. That day I had an obsession which was to protect my marriage, to protect the woman I love.”
said Daniel Alves.
rape accusation
Daniel Alves has been detained in Barcelona since January 20. He is accused of raping a 23-year-old girl on December 30, 2022, when he was at the Sutton nightclub in Spain.
According to the young woman, the side would have cornered her in a club bathroom and forced rape. Two days after the alleged crime, the woman reported it to the police.
