TRE/AM ombudsman delivers booklet against political gender violence to STF ministers

Brasilia DF) – During the 3rd National Meeting of Magistrates Members of Electoral Courts, the auxiliary judge of the Presidency of the Amazonian Electoral Court and TRE/AM Women’s Ombudsman, Dr Lídia de Abreu, handed over to the Minister of the Federal Supreme Court (STF), Alexandre de Moraes and Carmem Lúcia, the TRE/AM Women’s Ombudsman Booklet, launched in Manaus, against political gender violence. The event was held in Brasilia.
The booklet in question intends to combat gender political violence and points out other various measures to regularize the electoral process as a whole. The idea, arising from the management of the judge Jorge Manoel Lopes Lins at the head of the Regional Electoral Court of Amazonas, is presented as innovative, from the Amazon and that covers a chain of acts that will lead to improvements and strengthening of the female figure in politics.
The document was presented by the magistrate to the ministers, who were able to have a sample of the gigantic dimension of what it is to be a judge and to work in the Amazonian judiciary, being able to have contact with the practices adopted to comply with one of the fundamental objectives of the Republic, which is the reduction of social inequality.
In addition to minister Alexandre de Morais, the booklet was also delivered to the effective minister of the Superior Electoral Court, Raul Araújo Filho; Minister Sérgio Banhos, Minister Benedito Gonçalves, as well as Judge Salice Sanchotene, CNJ counselor, and the auxiliary judge of the Presidency of the TSE and Ombudsman for Women at the TSE, Dr Larissa Almeida, and also to the other magistrates, members of essential functions to the justice and other authorities present at the ceremony, raising the name of the Amazonian judiciary on the national scene, as well as enabling improvements to those who can benefit from the practices.
“Congratulations to everyone involved in spreading the good activities carried out by TRE/AM during the current management. Always leading, in addition to the name of the Amazonian electoral institution, to the social justice needed in our community”, added Dr Lídia de Abreu Carvalho.
