With the majestic Amazon River as a scenario, FutLama dragged sports lovers to another match, this time, during the celebration of Macapá’s birthday, which completes 265 years this Saturday (4). Football in the mud takes place with the support of the Macapá City Hall, organized by the Amapaense Futlama Federation.
“The birthday belongs to Macapá, but we are the ones who win the present with this vast sports program that includes several modalities. In addition, it is a pleasure to be part of this traditional championship”, highlighted the head of the Municipal Coordination of Sports and Leisure, Bruno Igreja.
Tradition passed down from father to daughter, Keilane Picanço, 38, says she doesn’t count time, but remembers her adolescence there, in the middle of the Amazon River. “My father brought people from the countryside to Macapá since I was very young. I never stopped and today I am captain and command a team of 15 women, ”she said with a smile.
“The tide is in charge of the game, we started casually and now football is serious, of course, it is also fun, it involves families and the general public who also come to enjoy it, even more so in this special game for Macapá’s birthday” , commented the President of the Amapaense FutLama Federation, Mário Frota.
Other modalities also attracted the public in the morning in the capital; Street running, cycling, futsal, sand volleyball, footvolley, bench press, squats and handball.
Independent cyclist, Juracy Pinheiro, 57 years old, took little Celine, 4 years old, who accompanied the ride on her father’s bicycle. “This is a way of bringing her closer to the sport and who knows in a while she will be part of the pedal group already in charge of her bike”, she said.
The sports program takes place with the support of the Municipal Coordination of Sports and Leisure (Comel) and organization of entities representing sports: Association of Physically Handicapped Amapá (ADFAP), Footvolley Federation of the State of Amapá (Fafuv), Amapaense Futlama Federation (Feafla), Group of Organized Cyclists (GCO), Amapaense Basketball Federation (FAB), Amapá Futsal League (LFA), Amapaense Federation of Grassroots Soccer Schools (FAEFB), Manga Rosa and Novo Vôlei Amapá.
