Created in 2020 by Fernando Ludgero, an expert in Argentine cuts, Casa Porteña is present in four shopping malls in São Paulo: Pátio Higienópolis, Shopping Vila Olímpia, Mooca Plaza Shopping and Park Shopping São Caetano. The establishment was designed to reflect the climate of Buenos Aires with a focus on Argentine barbecue, and it fulfills its role with flying colors. The chef in charge of the chain is Cristiano Rodrigues, responsible for the kitchen since the first restaurant.

Start the meal with a drink – or a refreshing seasoned tomato juice – and order El Trio (R$ 82), which features three artisanal sausages: parrillera, beer with cream cheese and spicy, which accompanied by toast and farofa, make up a hearty and varied input. Reserve space for the mini empanadas (R$ 39 – 6 pieces), with meat and cheese options.

Traditional cuts come from the grill and arrive at the table on heated stone plates. Highlights include meats finished with dry rub, such as beef filet mignon (R$99) and pork (R$66), as well as the classic chorizo steak (R$129) and ancho steak (R$149). But there are also salads, milanesas, pasta and fish on the menu, in addition to the Los Ninos menu, with options such as chorizo with rice and fries or penne with chicken fillet.

The novelty, however, are the Reserve Cuts, which come from Angus cattle, and which go through a maturation process (wet age) presenting a high degree of marbling and a buttery flavor. Among the options, ancho, picanha and a spectacular strip roast (R$ 359), which brings 700 grams of juicy meat and lots of flavor and can serve up to four people, as the accompaniments make it beautiful. Try the crispy banana farofa fried in butter (R$44) and the mushroom risotto (R$62), so delicious they could take center stage.

There are many desserts: churros with dulce de leche (R$32), milk pudding (R$32) and banoffe (R$34). But the tip is the Patagônica (R$ 36), a bowl with house-made dulce de leche and dulce de leche gelato topped with crushed nuts. To taste Buenos Aires without leaving São Paulo.
