TikTok Awards honors Xuxa and Rita Lee – 12/13/2023 – #Hashtag

The TikTok Awards 2023, which took place this Tuesday (12), at Ginásio do Ibirapuera, was attended by artists known on the platform and those renowned on Brazilian TV, such as Ana Maria Braga, Luciana Gimenez, Celso Portiolli and the two presenters of night, Eliana and Giovanna Antonelli.

The winner of Creator of the Year, the main category among the 16 awarded yesterday, was Gustavo Tubarão from Minas Gerais. He has more than 10 million followers on TikTok and gained fame by showing his daily life to the network.

The awards ceremony featured musical performances by Ivete Sangalo, Ana Castela, Kevin O Chris, Ludmilla, Luísa Sonza, among others. Péricles and Uriah paid tribute to Rita Lee, queen of rock, who died in May 2023.

Presenter Xuxa was honored during the awards ceremony, and was welcomed on stage amidst applause.

During the performance, other artists participated. Joelma appeared on stage, towards the end of the awards ceremony, to sing the excerpt from “Voando Pro Pará”, which went viral on TikTok: “I’m going to have a tacacá, dance, enjoy, have fun.”

Isabela Boscov, journalist and film and series critic, presented the winner of the #TikTokMeFezAssistir category. She went viral on TikTok with her critical audios, which were reused and became memes among users of the Bytedance platform.

This year, the award created three new categories: Prof. of the Year, for teachers who innovate in education content, #CleanTok, aimed at cleaning tips, and #TikTokMeFezAssistir itself, to reward creators who brought the best entertainment information.

The ceremony was broadcast live on TikTok and the TNT television channel, famous for broadcasting international awards shows, such as the Oscars and the Grammys.

In its third edition, it is the first time that the awards have been opened to the public. Users gained entry through the platform, through Loja dos Sonhos – an initiative that distributed free sweets – and through radio stations.
