‘This is the time to strengthen the Free Trade Zone’, says Amom about the CAS meeting in Manaus

Federal deputy Amom Mandel (Citizenship) traveled to Manaus, this Friday (24th), with the entourage of the vice president and minister of Development, Industry and Commerce, Geraldo Alckmin (PSB), for the 308th Meeting of the Board of Directors of Suframa (CAS). The congressman’s decision to participate in the entourage was a way of encouraging Alckmin, who also chairs the CAS, to go to the first meeting held by the council.

Held at the Centro de Convenções do Amazonas Vasco Vasques, in the Flores neighborhood, in the Center-South zone of Manaus, the meeting will be attended by the Minister of Integration and Regional Development, Waldez Góes, and other parliamentarians and heads of the municipal Executive, from Manaus and Rio Branco, and statewide, from Amazonas and Amapá.

Among the subjects to be discussed is the evaluation of projects that add up to investments of around R$ 1.5 billion, with the forecast of installing new companies in the Industrial Pole of Manaus, in addition to the generation of more than 1,500 new jobs. The expectation, according to the parliamentarian, is that the meeting will bring effective results to the region.

“I made a point of coming along with the presidential entourage to ensure that the vice president’s presence would not be unchecked. I hope that this meeting brings real results for Amazonas and that we can all come to a consensus. We still have undefined issues regarding the Free Zone, such as the lack of an effective superintendent for Suframa and the risks in relation to tax reform, so this is the time to strengthen the economic model and guarantee the generation of jobs and income for the population ”, declared Amon.
