In all, there were 274,017 votes in the 28 open categories of the Popular Flavor phase of Bom Gourmet Award 2023, the largest edition in history. Now, the expectation is for the gastronomy festival in Curitiba, on the 28th of August, which will celebrate the best in the sector, in one of the main postcards of the city, the Ópera de Arame.
This year’s edition of the Bom Gourmet Award, presented by
Gold Food Service, was organized in stages and phases, as in a game. In the first phase of the Popular Flavor stage, Bom Gourmet readers indicated, through the award website, their favorite establishments. In the second round, from June 27th to July 11th, it was time to choose between the five that registered the most nominations in each category.
While part of the award is made up of votes and nominations from the public, another part relies on the opinion of gastronomy specialists and opinion makers, via committees and the Specialties stage. Thus, the award includes the entire plurality of gastronomy in Curitiba and region.
All champions, including those elected by the Bom Gourmet Award committees, will be announced on August 28th.

This year’s edition of the Bom Gourmet Award celebrated the stories of women who took on gastronomy and had their lives transformed. Unprecedented, the category Gastronomy that Transforms selected five finalists from more than 30 entries. The five entrepreneurs were selected by a committee made up of members nominated by Bom Gourmet and Clube da Alice, the award’s partner in developing the category. The club brings together thousands of women entrepreneurs and enjoys international recognition thanks to its work of mobilizing and promoting female entrepreneurship. A Category Erasto Gaertner was another novelty in the 13th edition of the Bom Gourmet Award. In it, cooks selected from the city were invited to a workshop given by specialists from the hospital. In this way, they learned how food is prepared on site, with the aim of maximizing nutrients in the preparation of meals. With the learning, they created dishes that unite health and flavor. A body of judges evaluated the dishes in the dark, not knowing who the chefs responsible for preparing them were. The evaluation criteria included execution and whether the health proposal of the hospital’s nutrition service was met.
HAUS Ambiance Committee
The 2023 Bom Gourmet Award also featured the Haus Ambientação committee. Within the category Novelties of the Bom Gourmet Committee, the judges evaluated the architecture and design proposal of the establishments. A group formed by architects and designers decides the great champion based on the architectural and decoration proposal.
