For over 20 years in Amapá, the company Eco Forte Bioenergy operates in sustainable forest management and, according to the CEO Wellington Rogério Concithe action developed has the function of rejuvenating the forest. “It has this role of giving birth again, removing some individuals so that many others can be born there, giving the forest a new life”reported.
Welinton Rogério Conci was heard on the program ‘LuizMeloInterview’ (Diário FM 90.9)where he spoke about the sustainable forest management project and the benefits for the community and economy of Amapá. “This project was a dream of the Maracá community for more than 25 years. We analyzed the points, made visits and traveled rivers and roads to present the project to more than 38 communities”, said the CEO.
Forestry Grant Project
“This project was approved by two assemblies, at the beginning of 2022, and since then we have started work to make all this happen, meeting all environmental standards. Incra gave us guidance for the project, then we presented it to Sema, who understood the dynamics of an integration model between the community, nature and the economy”informed Welinton.
Regarding the size of the area authorized for the company to operate in forest management in Maracá, Wellington stated that the work has been carried out on approximately 180 thousand hectares. “It is an agroextractive area. It benefits 1,013 families and I believe that more than five hundred should join the project; it is the largest sustainable forestry management in the world; brought dignity to the area as a whole”celebrated Welinton.
“It’s the only way to keep the forest alive, generating wealth and benefiting the entire society. We strictly follow environmental legislation, which orders all this work. The new vision that the state is having, the openness to development, this in the Clécio government is very clear, it is taking Amapá to the world”declared the CEO.
Then, Welinton Rogério Conci said: “I understand that the only real way to save the Amazon forest is through sustainable forest management. The forest is like a human being, it is born, grows, ages and dies. Our forest is old, we need to manage it, take care that illegal logging does not occur. Management prevents illegal agriculture and mining, we are responsible for that area.”
World
The ECO Forte Bioenergia project was presented at COP 28, in Dubai, in 2023. “Very good repercussion”, celebrated Wellington, who took the opportunity to recall a conversation he had with the Austrian ambassador, Stefan Scholz, during dinner in Brasília, to speak from the project: “There were 38 ambassadors and we had the opportunity to talk about the project, and positive situations have already emerged. We were invited to be at a fair in the Gulf at the end of May.”
“Amapá will be represented with a stand at the largest wood fair in the world, taking our flag to all countries. Today we export to more than 50 countries; in the Netherlands, wood is used in dikes, oyster farming and in civil construction; in France, it is used for sleepers and train tracks.”concluded Welinton.
