The research also indicates that the largest age group is made up of people between 36 and 45 years old, with the average age of participants being 40 years old – one year less than that recorded in 2021. And a curiosity: there are more runners between 56 and 65 years (8% of the total) than between 15 and 25 years (6% of the total).

Road racing represents the majority of sporting events in the country, with 81% of the total, followed by cycling (6%), triathlon (4%), trail running (3%) and swimming and crossing events (1%). . Virtual races, in which each athlete runs a certain distance on their favorite route, and which emerged as an alternative during the pandemic, have shrunk and today represent just 1% of the total.
