According to Cidade, Amazonino leaves a legacy of public works that will hardly be surpassed. “I have no doubt that he is the greatest political leader in Amazonas and one of the most expressive in Brazil. A humanist, statesman and republican like few others, who now joins a select group of notable public men who leave this plan to go down in history”, he highlighted.
The president of Aleam also highlighted some of Amazonino’s accomplishments that demonstrate the importance of the politician in building the legacy left in Amazonas. Among them, the creation of the University of the State of Amazonas (UEA), the construction of the 28 de Agosto, João Lúcio and Francisca Mendes hospitals and emergency rooms, in addition to the Hemoam Foundation; the construction of the Bumbódromo de Parintins; the revitalization of Teatro Amazonas, Largo São Sebastião and the Ponta Negra Tourist Complex. Of great achievements, Amazonino leaves a legacy of, above all, someone in love with the Amazon. He was strategist, visionary and fearless. He accomplished indisputable feats. Today, like so many Amazonians, I mourn his departure while celebrating the legacy of this great Amazonian. Go in peace, Negão ”, he concluded.
