Telegram sent a letter to Minister Alexandre de Moraes, of the Federal Supreme Court (STF), criticizing his decision to block the channel of elected federal deputy Nikolas Ferreira (PL-MG). The information is from Globe.

According to the newspaper, the application’s lawyers say the STF orders on content removal have been made with “generic grounds” and in a “disproportionate” way. In addition, they state that the complete blocking of profiles may represent censorship and prevent “a free communication space for legitimate speeches”.

In the same letter, according to The globe, the application informs that it has already complied with Moraes’ determination regarding the channels of the digital influencer Monark and the educator Paula Marisa. Regarding Nikolas, Telegram says that there is “no basis or justification for the complete blockade” and that Moraes did not indicate “the specific contents that would be considered illegal”.
