‘Te Encontro na Barroso’ enters the official calendar of events in Amazonas

Considered one of the most traditional cultural events in Amazonas, the Integrated Arts Festival “Te Encontro Na Barroso” is now part of the official calendar

Manaus (AM) – The Government of Amazonas sanctioned Law No. 6,694/2024, authored by state deputy Wilker Barreto (Citizenship), which includes the Integrated Arts Festival “Te Encontro Na Barroso”, considered one of the most traditional cultural events in the State, on the calendar official from Amazonas.

Considered one of the most traditional cultural events in Amazonas, the Integrated Arts Festival “Te Encontro Na Barroso” is now part of the official State calendar. This is because Law No. 6,694/2024, authored by state deputy Wilker Barreto (Citizenship) and which includes the event in the state program, was sanctioned by the State Government.

Published in the Official State Gazette (DOE) on January 4th, the law allows the inclusion of the festival in the official calendar of events in Amazonas, which guarantees the state Executive a possible allocation of resources to the event, promoted annually in August by Centro Cultural Casarão de Ideias (CCCI) and mixes art, entertainment, gastronomy and entrepreneurship on Rua Barroso, located in the Center of Manaus.

The project’s creator, João Fernandes, thanked the law proposed by Barreto and stated that the event will gain more notoriety due to the importance of showcasing local culture through Amazonian art.

“I would like to thank deputy Wilker Barreto, for the happiness of the Te Encontro na Barroso project becoming part of the State calendar. This is very important for a project that is carried out by society and that will increasingly fulfill this role of bringing the city to the Center, generating jobs, income and promoting the culture of Manaus and Amazonas”,

said Fernandes.

Author of the law, Wilker stated that the sanction of the law will allow Te Encontro na Barroso to have greater visibility from the State and highlighted the “social function” of the event in occupying the urban center of the capital, now abandoned by the public authorities.

“The inclusion of the event in the State calendar gives the Government the possibility to direct resources to the festival, thus ensuring the promotion of local culture, in addition to bringing greater visibility to this beautiful project, which brings life and rescue to a center of the capital that is now so forgotten. and abandoned”,

said Barreto, who was present at the 3rd edition of Te Encontro na Barroso, held on August 6, 2023.

On the occasion, the parliamentarian went to closely check the application of an amendment of R$ 100 thousand, of his authorship, to hold the event, which brought together 12 thousand people and featured 13 musical attractions, as well as creative exhibitors and gastronomic spaces.
