Manaus (AM) — In the month in which the João Bosco Pantoja Evangelista Municipal Library turned 57 years old, the City of Manaus, through the Municipal Foundation of Culture, Tourism and Events (Manauscult), which manages the space, reinforces its commitment to delivering the best services to users.
The Director of Culture at Manauscult, Wallace Almeida, highlights the importance of the library as a means to disseminate and preserve the memory of Amazonian culture, reaffirming the objective of municipal management in promoting and disseminating culture.
“The João Bosco Pantoja Evangelista Library is a very important cultural facility for our city, as its collection houses great authors who strengthen our historical heritage. Just like its building, an architectural jewel in the historic center, its conservation for the full use of its facilities further reinforces the city hall’s commitment to valuing and disseminating culture within our public cultural spaces”,

The João Bosco Pantoja Evangelista Municipal Library is a space that houses works by great authors of regional culture and paintings by great exponents of Manausian culture, in addition to having a collection of approximately 35 thousand copies, including general works and Amazonian-themed works, in addition to provide air-conditioned rooms for reading, studying and research, as well as computers and tablets with internet connection, home loan service and research for bibliographical research.
Silene Batista, director of municipal equipment, draws attention to the library’s “kids” space, which offers a wide variety of books and activities aimed at children.
“The library’s kids space is an environment designed for children, aiming to promote interest in reading. This space is equipped with children’s books, educational games and interactive activities, providing a welcoming and stimulating environment for developing children’s reading skills,”

To access library services and borrow works, you must register by presenting an identity document with photo and proof of residence. Children must be accompanied by their parents or guardians while on site.
The João Bosco Pantoja Municipal Library is located on the corner of Rua Monsenhor Coutinho, in front of Praça do Congresso, and is open from Monday to Friday from 9 am to 5 pm.
