TCE-AM defines reporting for the accounts of Wilson Lima and David Almeida

Manaus (AM) – The advisors of the Amazonas Court of Auditors (TCE-AM) Josué Cláudio and Fabian Barbosa will report on the 2023 accounts of Governor Wilson Lima and Mayor David Almeida, respectively. The choice of rapporteurs was made on the morning of this Tuesday (31), during the 1st Ordinary Session of the year 2023, and aims to give advisors enough time to monitor the management acts of both public managers during the course of the year.

The plenary meeting was broadcast live on the official TCE-AM profiles on YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram.

The reporting councilors will have the mission of evaluating the accounts of public managers throughout the year 2023, together with the other members of the Full Court, in a special session to be held in 2024, issuing a prior opinion to the Legislative Assembly of Amazonas (Aleam) and to the City Council of Manaus (CMM) on the regularity of the acts of the managers.

Both directors must prepare a detailed report on their evaluations and present it to the plenary of the Court of Accounts. If irregularities are identified, they may recommend corrective measures or impose fines.

Governor’s Accounts

Counselor Josué Cláudio, as governor Wilson Lima’s rapporteur, will be responsible for analyzing the state administration’s accounts and verifying whether public resources were applied correctly and efficiently.

In addition, he should verify whether the fiscal targets were met and whether there was any irregularity in the government’s financial management.

As deliberated during the last month of 2022 by the Economic Affairs Commission (CAE) and approved by the other Aleam deputies, the state government budget for 2023 will be R$ 26,272.832 billion. The amount is 10% higher than the previous year.

The same applies to councilor Fabian Barbosa, who, as rapporteur for Mayor David Almeida’s accounts, will be responsible for evaluating the financial management of Manaus City Hall and verifying whether public resources have been properly applied and in accordance with the law. He should also check whether there was transparency in the management of resources and whether the municipal administration met the established fiscal targets.

Deliberated by the councilors that make up the CMM, also in December 2022, the City Hall of Manaus will have a budget of R$ 8.5 billion to invest in the city in 2023, an amount 19% higher than that of 2022.
