Tax Reform goes to the Federal Senate for analysis

After the closing of the vote on the Tax Reform, the session of the Chamber of Deputies continued with the beginning of the vote on the bill that deals with the Board of Administration of Tax Resources (Carf). There was also the possibility of voting on two other matters, the Fiscal Framework and the Food Acquisition Program (PAA). However, President Lira indicated that they should only be voted on in August, after the parliamentary recess.

In just over an hour, the president, Arthur Lira (PP-AL) conducted the vote on four highlights presented by the PL on the tax reform. The highlights are presented by the parties and have the function of trying to change excerpts from the text prepared by the rapporteur.

Only one alteration to the text of the Tax Reform was accepted in this Friday’s session. Through a highlight of the PL, the extension until 2032 of the presumed IPI credit for vehicle assemblers installed in the North, Northeast and Midwest, Sudam and Sudene, was removed from the text.

The Tax Reform is now being analyzed by the Federal Senate. In a press conference, held this Friday morning (7), the mayor, Arthur Lira, reinforced that the Senate will be free to discuss the text, but said that the backbone of the reform must be maintained. “We hope that the Senate can vote and, certainly, it should return to the Chamber and in the meantime, the conversations will be fine-tuned and the houses in common agreement, will build a consensus”, he said.
