Tarcísio’s secretary travels to Switzerland for a religious event – 05/06/2023 – Panel

Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicans) Secretary of Policies for Women, Sonaira Fernandes received authorization from the governor of São Paulo to travel to Geneva, Switzerland, and participate in an event that proposes “teaching biblical principles in government spheres around the world” .

From the 6th to the 10th of May, Sonaira will participate in the “Uniting our Nations and Reconciling”, of the Ministry of Parliament and Faith, founded in 2009 by the Argentine pastor Luciano Bongarrá.

The objective, as described by the pastor himself in interviews, is to take “the message of the Lord” to those in positions of authority.

“Parlamento e Fé wants to establish in each Congress, each municipality, each place, each city hall in the world a man of God so that he can transmit the transforming message of Jesus Christ”, says Bongarrá, in video.

According to the decree that authorized the removal, published in the State Official Gazette on May 3, the secretary will make the trip without prejudice to salaries and other advantages of her position —that is, without salary deduction.

The event’s program is composed mainly of presentations by pastors, such as David Hausmann, from Switzerland, Ben Hur, from the USA, and Juan Bongarrá, from Argentina, and can be seen here.

Evangelical, Sonaira is close to Eduardo Bolsonaro (PL-SP), with whom she worked, and her political activities are aligned with the values ​​of Bolsonarism. On social media, she has already written that “feminism kills more than wars and diseases” and is “the great genocide of our time”.

In recent years, as councilwoman of the capital, she presented projects to prohibit racial quotas in public and private institutions in the city of São Paulo and for biological sex to be the only criterion for the participation of athletes in competitions in the municipality, thus excluding transgenders from sports disputes.

Other projects of hers include banning the creation of unisex bathrooms in the city, the use of neutral language and teaching about “gender ideology” and sexual orientation in schools. None of them were approved.
