The Tarcísio de Freitas government (Republicanos-SP) spent R$96,900 just on tickets to Switzerland so that secretary Sonaira Fernandes, of Policies for Women, could participate in an event that proposes “teaching biblical principles in the spheres of government In all world”. Evangelical, Sonaira is close to Eduardo Bolsonaro (PL-SP), with whom she worked, and her political activities are aligned with the values of Bolsonarism. On social media, she has already written that “feminism kills more than wars and diseases” and is “the great genocide of our time”.
In a note, the São Paulo government’s Communication Secretariat states that in addition to the conference, the delegation also “fulfilled its agenda at the UN headquarters, where the diplomat André Simas, human rights coordinator of the Brazilian Mission in Geneva, and Celine Georgi were present. , which is part of the CEDAW (Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination Against Women) secretariat.
