The governor of São Paulo, Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicans), canceled on medical recommendation the participation in the ceremony for the transition to the post of military commander for the Southeast, which was scheduled in the official agenda for this Monday (17), at 10:30 am.
The cancellation occurred after Tarcísio underwent a new surgical procedure on Saturday (15), according to a government advisory. The surgery would be a complement to the procedure performed in London for the removal of a kidney stone in March.
In a note, the press office informed that he is doing well and will fulfill internal commitments at Palácio dos Bandeirantes during the week. The hospital where the new surgery was performed was not disclosed.
On March 27th, the governor had to interrupt the commitments of the international mission in London due to a crisis. After feeling severe pain, he was attended to at the hotel by a doctor from the Brazilian embassy and then taken to a hospital.
Because of the problem, he was represented in some appointments by the secretary of International Business, Lucas Ferraz.
After the procedure in London, the governor was discharged the same day. At the time, it was announced that he would undergo additional tests upon his return to São Paulo.
For this second, Tarcísio’s agenda foresees several meetings with secretaries, businessmen and with the president of the Legislative Assembly, André do Prado (PL).
