The acting governor of Amazonas, Tadeu de Souza, inaugurated, this Monday (17), the 51st robotics laboratory – Espaço Maker – of the Fazer para Aprendiz project, coordinated by the Secretary of State for Education and School Sports (Seduc). The new space was installed at the Gilberto Mestrinho Full Time Educational Center (Ceti), located in the Educandos neighborhood, south of Manaus.
With the goal of implementing 100 robotics laboratories throughout the state, Fazer para Aprendiz is part of the Educa+ Amazonas program, launched by Governor Wilson Lima in 2021. During the inauguration, Tadeu de Souza also made a positive assessment of the beginning of the special calendar replacement of missed classes, in the capital and interior, during the period of stoppage of teachers in the state education network.
During the inauguration, the acting governor stressed that the new space, which combines state-of-the-art technology to encourage creativity, aims to develop active learning methodologies in state schools. With “hands on”, students have access to an environment that uses problematization as an instrument to encourage research and protagonism.
“For me, it is a privilege to be in this first opportunity as acting governor, opening a Espaço Maker laboratory. It is a project started in 2021 by Governor Wilson Lima and, today, we deliver laboratory number 51. 24 have already been delivered in the interior and 27 in the capital and we are working to reach the goal of delivering 100 laboratories”,
stressed Tadeu de Souza.
The acting governor arrived at the event accompanied by Luan Gama, 10 years old, who is representing Amazonas in the national competition for the painting “Little Geniuses”, from the program by presenter Luciano Huck, on TV Globo. The Amazonian studies at the State School (EE) Libertador Simon Bolívar, in the Adrianópolis neighborhood, south-central zone of the capital.
Also present at the inauguration were the city councilors of Manaus, Allan Campelo and Alonso Oliveira, as well as members of Seduc, led by the department’s pedagogical executive secretary, Arlete Mendonça.
replacement of classes
Ceti Gilberto Mestrinho was one of more than 470 schools to complete the first day of the replacement schedule for classes, which started on Saturday (15). Teaching units in the capital and in the interior are carrying out the planning set up by Seduc, which includes 11 Saturdays for Regular Education, until the month of October. For students of Youth and Adult Education (EJA), replacement will be until July 28th.
In a press conference for the press vehicles present at the event, the acting governor highlighted that the measure had great support from the school community in the first weekend. “It’s good for us to give this information to the community. We had a large number of students and professors, and the goal of 11 replacement Saturdays will be achieved”assured Tadeu de Souza.
According to Seduc, the dates chosen refer to the days when education professionals are out of action, which took place between May and June of this year. For Regular Education, July 15th and 22nd will be used; August 5th, 12th, 19th and 26th; September 2nd, 16th and 23rd; October 7th and 21st. For EJA, it will be calendar days from July 14th to 28th.
Maker Space
Equipped with innovation and technology products, each Espaço Maker was designed by the Government of Amazonas to expand, within state public schools, student learning with content on robotics, programming, 3D printing, electronics, audio and video production , joinery and artistic production.
“The laboratories represent a new culture within the educational process, which is the culture of self-learning, and the student himself, with the mentorship of a professional, manages to find tools to overcome obstacles. It is a way of projecting the development of skills in the professional field, socio-affective skills, learning and doing things alone”,
explained the acting governor.
Professor at Ceti Gilberto Mestrinho, Alexandre Garcia celebrated the inauguration of the new space and explained how he will use the new tools to teach his students about programming logic. For the educator, Espaço Maker will be essential for the professional future of students who wish to work in the computing area.
“I coordinate the programming logic work in which students develop a representation of a reality in which they are going to develop, in blocks, what people are going to do, how to talk and interact. You can even create games, mathematics and physics”,
detailed the teacher.
One of the axes of the Educa+ Amazonas program, the Fazer para Aprendiz project was created to provide students with practical and experimental activities in the most diverse areas of knowledge, bringing them closer to challenging situations and instigating them to seek to solve problems, with a focus on improving of learning, in the development of projects, according to the local context, and even in entrepreneurship.
bilingual teaching
For 16-year-old high school student Julley de Oliveira, who is participating in a project to develop educational games using the Office Package, Espaço Maker will also help reinforce English language studies. Ceti Gilberto Mestrinho is one of the state public schools in Amazonas that offer bilingual education.
“As our school is bilingual, we are always learning the English language in all educational projects and products. And this project has been very important to me because I like English. We do a review on the whole subject, and that makes other elementary school students learn to move too”,
he said.
