One of the suspects leading the attacks that hit more than 50 cities in Rio Grande do Norte since last week was killed in a confrontation with the police this Tuesday (21). Francisco Allison de Freitas, known as the “Nazist”, was hiding in the rural area of ​​the municipality of Icapuí, in Ceará, 316 kilometers away from Natal.

According to the police, the Nazi led the attacks in the municipality of Mossoró and region (RN), the city where the Federal Penitentiary is located, which houses leaders of criminal factions. In a recent Civil Police operation, almost 100 liters of gasoline and ammunition were seized at one of its addresses.

Police have not yet disclosed whether there were any new attacks in the early hours of this Wednesday (22). Throughout Tuesday, occurrences were recorded such as the fire of a beverage truck and a car belonging to a telecommunications company in Greater Natal, an explosive device and an attempted fire in a Civil Police garage and on a boat in the capital. potiguar.

According to the most recent bulletin from the State Secretariat for Public Security and Social Defense (Sedede), early this Wednesday morning (22) 150 people were arrested on suspicion of participating in the attacks and the apprehension of 139 explosive devices, 31 gallons of fuel, 41 firearms, among others.

Since Tuesday of last week, 192 attacks have been officially recorded in cities in Rio Grande do Norte. Earlier this week, Minister Flávio Dino, of Justice, announced the transfer of R$ 100 million to the state to expand security structures, such as the construction of new investigation structures for the Civil Police, purchase and rental of vehicles, weapons, and forwarding projects for the construction of a new penitentiary and the creation of vacancies in existing prisons.
