President was the target of a PF operation

A survey conducted by Atlas Intel and released this Friday, February 9, 2024, reveals that 46.5% of Brazilians believe that former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL) planned a coup d’état in 2022. Those who say no believing in this hypothesis represent 36.8% of the total, while 16.6% were unable to answer. The information is from the iG website.

The survey was carried out through internet interviews, with 1,615 participants, between the 8th and 9th of February 2024. On the 8th, Bolsonaro was the target of a PF operation investigating a possible coup attempt by members of his government between 2019 and 2022.

The question asked to the interviewees was: “In your opinion, the PF searches that identified a letter in which former president Bolsonaro planned to declare a State of Siege after the organization of the 2nd round of the presidential elections proves the planning of a coup d’état ?”

Interviewees were selected digitally and randomly, covering people aged 16 or over, from all 27 units of the Federation. The survey’s margin of error is plus or minus 2 percentage points, with a 95% confidence interval.
