Suframa visits companies in São Paulo attentive to strategic PPBs for the Manaus Free Trade Zone

The visit served not only for Suframa to better understand the manufacturing process

Manaus (AM) – Following the visit made last week to the BYD Autos factory, in Campinas (SP), Suframa employees were also on May 25th and 26th at units of the companies Decathlon and Tecumseh do Brasil Ltda., located, respectively, in São Paulo (SP) and São Carlos (SP), to improve knowledge on technical aspects related to Basic Productive Processes (PPBs) that are under discussion and that are strategic for the Manaus Free Trade Zone.

At Decathlon, considered the largest sporting goods store in the world, Suframa employees took advantage of the visit to get to know the broad mix of products sold by the company and, in particular, the camping tents, for which the company is proposing the setting of a PPB to manufacture the product in the Industrial Pole of Manaus (PIM).

Decathlon tents use high technology in fabric and sewing, as they need to take into account different aspects such as temperature, humidity, wind speed and other climatic factors of the most varied types of environments. Due to the high technology added to the product, Suframa has shown great interest in processing the proposal for setting the PPB and made the technical visit to strengthen ties and learn more about the product’s details.

During the visit to Tecumseh do Brasil Ltda., the employees of the Autarchy took the opportunity to get to know the productive structure of the only national manufacturer of motor compressors for air conditioners. It is worth mentioning that, in the Manaus Free Trade Zone, all air conditioning manufacturing companies in the country are installed – and all these companies are supplied by motor compressors from Tecumseh, which is also responsible for serving other companies that manufacture refrigeration equipment in general (refrigerators and vertical and horizontal freezers, among others).

The visit served not only for Suframa to better understand the manufacturing process of a critical component for compliance with the PPB for air conditioners in the Manaus Free Trade Zone, but also for it to learn about the production of a new product model, called “ inverter motor compressor”, which brings the advantage of better energy efficiency to air conditioners.

According to the superintendent of Suframa, Bosco Saraiva, the technical visits demonstrate the interest and good will of the Autarchy in knowing in detail the productive nuances of strategic segments of the Free Zone of Manaus and also to collaborate for the attraction of new investments and for the diversification of PIM production.

“In this way, we make it clear that we are seeking to know the entire process in order to best serve the interests of all companies and entities involved in the discussions. By better understanding the issues, we will be able to collaborate so that the final result of the discussions is as fruitful as possible”,
