Substitute counselor tries to make himself viable for the TCE – 07/30/2023 – Panel

Deputy member of the São Paulo State Court of Auditors, Alexandre Sarquis seeks support to run for the effective vacancy in the entity that will be opened in September with the retirement of Edgard Camargo Rodrigues.

The new member of the court will be decided by the Legislative Assembly, on a date yet to be set, and therefore the tendency is for the chosen one to have a political profile. The favorite is federal deputy Marco Bertaiolli (PSD-SP), who has the support of the allied base of Governor Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicans).

Sarquis, on the other hand, runs outside and has a technical profile. He worked at the Central Bank and the Chamber of Deputies before joining the TCE. He has a degree in law, engineering and public administration and teaches at the Public Ministry, OAB and TCE schools.

In 2025, three more vacancies will become available on the court due to the retirement of counselors.
