Students propose solutions to the country’s challenges – 02/17/2023 – Education

Brazilian children and adolescents have been one of the groups most affected in recent years by the problems faced by the country, but they are little heard about what they think of these situations.

Understanding that part of the diagnosis and solution for these problems lies with youth, the newspapers Joca e Tino, published by Editora Magia de Ler, launched the Futuro em Pauta project.

The action will bring together suggestions, ideas and possible solutions for some of the most urgent challenges facing the economy and education in Brazil. The idea is that they are prepared by elementary and high school students from all over the country.

Based on these proposals, a final document will be prepared to be delivered, in August 2023, to the Ministers of Finance and Education (or their representatives).

The two newspapers, aimed at children and young people, are used in educational activities at public and private schools in the country.

According to Sthéphanie Habrich, executive director of the publications, the initiative is part of the newspaper’s proposal to bring relevant information to children and adolescents and stimulate debate about the context in which they live.

“Regardless of which people are elected as governors, young people have the right and duty, as citizens they already are, to participate in public life in Brazil, debating better initiatives for areas such as those proposed by Futuro em Pauta –economy and education” , says Sthéhanie.

The project is aimed at public and private schools across the country. Units wishing to participate must register on the Futuro em Pauta website by March 21st. The submission of the suggestions discussed with the students will take place between March 22nd and June 14th.

To support the activities and encourage debate among students, Editora Magia de Ler will offer schools inputs with data and information on education and economics and lesson plans to stimulate reflection and debate, with ideas on organizing activities related to the schools.
