The privileged geographic position and tax incentives provided in Amapá continue to attract companies interested in using the Port of Santana to promote business. This Thursday, the 13th, the acting governor, Teles Júnior, received at the Palácio do Setentrião a group of businessmen from the steel sector who want to invest in the importation of products by the state.
“Following the guidance of Governor Clécio, we are in dialogue with investors to enable operations that can boost our economy. In this case, it is imported to Amapá, the goods are cleared and distributed through reverse logistics to the rest of Brazil. Amapá has the potential to import up to 7% of the country’s total demand for steel imports”pointed out the acting governor.
An opportunity for the economic development of the state and municipality of Santana, the project that plans to consolidate the operation in Amapá uses containers to transport products.
Currently, investments take place mainly through the Port of São Francisco do Sul, in Santa Catarina. The move to the Port of Santana provides for a reduction in the waiting time for product delivery.
“These are investors who want to bring businesses with high investments to Amapá. What was signaled here is that we have the same objective: to develop the state, the municipalities and generate employment and income opportunities for our population”said the mayor of Santana, Bala Rock.
At the meeting, the managers talked about ways for the State to contribute to the operation and make it more attractive to maintain the practice in the state. Also participating in the agenda were the Secretary of Government, Rodolfo Vale, and representatives of the Amapá Agency and the State Revenue Service.
