The Federal Supreme Court has scheduled for next Tuesday (25) the start of the trial of the second wave of 100 denounced by the Attorney General’s Office (PGR) for alleged involvement in the acts of January 8, which culminated in the invasion and depredation of the headquarters of the Three Powers, in Brasília.

Those cited will also be part of the two investigations that are open for trial, which investigates the alleged instigators of the acts (4921) and the executors (4922), under the report of Minister Alexandre de Moraes (see here). The first wave of denounced, which began to be judged last Tuesday (18) in a virtual plenary, already had a majority formed by the conversion into defendants, with six votes in favor and none against following the rapporteur – the session ends on Monday (24).

The new wave of denounced will also be judged in a virtual plenary lasting until May 2. The expectation is that the ministers maintain the decisions they have already taken in this first phase of the trial.

Those denounced in this phase were arrested on the same day as the acts and on the following, in the camp set up in front of the Army Headquarters, in Brasília, and are still being held in the penitentiary system of the Federal District.

In all, the PGR has already presented 1,390 formal accusations in the investigations, 239 of which are related to the core of executors, 1,150 in the core of initiators and one in the core that investigates the alleged omission of public authorities in the episode.
