State of São Paulo expands vaccination with bivalent – 03/21/2023 – Health

The Secretary of State for Health of SP has extended vaccination against Covid-19 with the bivalent Pfizer to all eligible public according to the vaccination schedule, starting this Tuesday (21). The measure was taken based on a new technical note from the Ministry of Health.
The total audience is around 11.9 million people. The state of São Paulo said that it awaits the arrival of new doses. Some municipalities, which have the necessary stock, can already start expanding.
“The municipal manager, depending on his stock of doses, must assess the feasibility of applying the Pfizer Bivalent vaccine to priority groups”, said Tatiana Lang D’Agostini, director of the Center for Epidemiological Surveillance of the State of SP.
Until this Monday morning (20), more than 1.8 million doses of bivalent had already been applied across the state.
Check who can take the bivalent vaccine in SP
- Seniors aged 60 and over;
- People living in long-stay institutions (from 12 years old) and their workers;
- Immunocompromised people (from 12 years old);
- Indigenous, riverside and quilombola (from 12 years old);
- Pregnant women and postpartum women;
- Health workers;
- People with permanent disability (from 12 years old);
- Population deprived of freedom and adolescents in socio-educational measures;
- Officials of the deprivation of liberty system.
