Special cultural programming anticipates Children’s Day in Manaus

Manaus (AM) – The children’s program sets the tone for the events that the Government of Amazonas, through the Secretariat of Culture and Creative Economy, prepared to offer to the public of Manaus during the weekend preceding Children’s Day, celebrated on October 12th. There is, however, programming for all ages.

Today and tomorrow (06 and 07), the children’s musical “Pluft, Plaft, Zuum”, promoted by the Liceu de Artes e Ofícios Claudio Santoro, makes its grand debut. Dedicated to young spectators, the free show will be presented at Teatro Amazonas, with two sessions, at 6pm and 8pm, on both days.

Freely inspired by the work of Maria Clara Machado, “Pluft, Plaft, Zuum” takes an imaginary journey through the circus world, with the actors performing acrobatics, magic acts and other circus acts, playing with playfulness in a conception of fable and magic. The show will feature translation into Libras and audio description, on the 6th, in the 8pm session, and on the 7th, in both sessions, at 6pm and 8pm.

Also in the program for Children’s Day, the Amazonas Guitar Orchestra (Ovam) prepared a special repertoire to present this Friday (06), at Teatro Gebes Medeiros, at 7pm. Entitled “Children’s”, the concert features themes from famous films and cartoons, as well as themes from children’s games.

On Saturday morning (07), the program aimed at little ones is a ride on the AmazonBus, from 8am to 12pm, taking children through the historic center of Manaus. All vacancies have already been filled and registrations are closed. It is worth remembering that the spaces visited will be open to visitors, even for those who are not among the AmazonBus passengers.

The tour leaves from Largo de São Sebastião and passes through spaces such as the Public Library, Palácio Rio Negro and Usina Chaminé, with a final destination at the Centro Cultural Povos da Amazônia, where a guided tour of the space will take place.

Also on Saturday, at 4pm, the Teatro Amazonas hall opens to children with a storytelling program with puppets entitled “Luzeiros, cultura e arte”. Led by the artist Malu Finança, the storytelling with puppets continues with a recreational moment in the outdoor area of ​​the theater.

Amazon Theater Festival

The Installation Theater will be the stage for the premiere of the Amazon Theater Festival (FTA), tomorrow (07/10), at 7pm, with the show “No me toquen ese valse”, by the Yuyachkani Cultural Group, from Peru, one of the guests of this 17th edition. The theater company has 50 years of uninterrupted theater activity in Latin America.

On Sunday (08), at 10 am, the FTA continues at Teatro Amazonas with the start of the non-competitive Ednelza Sahdo Show with the show “Vida Seca”, by Cia Manipuladora de Formas ETC e Tal (SC).

Also at Mostra Ednelza Sahdo, on Sunday, at 7pm, “Hamlet Cancelado”, by Vinícius Piedade (SP), will be presented, still at Teatro Amazonas. Also on Sunday, the Jurupari Exhibition opens at 5pm, in Largo de São Sebastião, with the show “O Bode Quer”, by Evan Teixeira (CE).

Mania to Read

On Sunday (08), the Mania de Ler program receives an illustrious visit from writer Adriana Barbosa, who will carry out storytelling activities with Amazonian fables. The literary activity takes place from 5pm to 7:30pm, at Largo de São Sebastião, where the Aníbal Beça flying library will be installed.

The Mania de Ler program is promoted by the State Government, through the Secretariat of Culture and Creative Economy. Each edition brings various activities for children, such as storytelling, pound workshops and playful games. This month there is also a special program to celebrate Children’s Day: an edition on October 12th with a “literary treasure hunt” game.
