Expectations have grown among São Paulo City Hall technicians that the TCM-SP (SP Court of Auditors) will guide the judgment of the Smart Sampa public notice later this month.
Suspended in December, the program provides for the installation of 20,000 cameras with facial identification across the entire city of São Paulo.
On Monday (17), Ricardo Nunes management technicians met with TCM to discuss adjustments to points in the project. They dealt with aspects such as camera image storage and artificial intelligence.
The ACSP (Commercial Association of São Paulo) and other entities in the field have been pressing for the resumption of the program. Businessmen argue that Smart Sampa can improve monitoring in the city and increase the safety of merchants and consumers, who are fleeing the center because of Cracolândia.
