This Wednesday’s (25th) cultural program, the day on which São Paulo turns 469, is almost as long as the metropolis is itself — and has good options for those on a budget.

Starting with the musical attractions prepared by the City of São Paulo, which include concerts by João Gomes, Belo, Almir Sater and Dona Onete with Gaby Amarantos in the Anhangabaú Valley —there are also performances in equipment such as the Centro Cultural São Paulo, with the presence by Nando Reis.

In addition to music, the selection with free programs also has activities to do with the family, exhibitions, theater and even a guided tour to learn more about the history of the metropolis.

Nando Reis and Sebastião Reis
The show goes over the artist’s 40-year career with his son, Sebastião Reis. To the sound of two guitars, the musician sings hits such as “Os Cegos do Castelo”, “Por Onde Andei” and “O Segundo Sol”, among others. It takes place at 7 pm.

Memories of Independence
On the 25th, the Museu do Ipiranga inaugurates a temporary exhibition that discusses the protagonism of the cry of Ipiranga as a landmark of Independence, recalling episodes that contributed to the rupture between Brazil and Portugal that took place in various parts of the country. “Memories of Independence” debuts a new room in the space dedicated to short-term exhibitions. It takes place from 11 am.

Beyond the 11 o’clock train
The Immigration Museum holds 25 free activities on this day, including a series of visits to spaces that reflect the immigration culture of nations such as Lebanon, Bolivia, Spain and Italy. The program also includes a guided tour of the city from the Ipiranga neighborhood and a tour of the Consolação Cemetery to observe the Italian art seen in space. It takes place from 9:30 am.

johnny hooker
The singer from Pernambuco presents a show with the repertoire of his new album, “Orgia”. In addition to songs from the album, the presentation includes hits such as “Volta”, “Amor Marginal” and “Flutua”. Happens at 3 pm.

Brenda Lee and the Palace of the Princesses
Musical winner of the Bibi Ferreira award, “Brenda Lee” is on stage at CCSP and will perform an extra session on the anniversary of São Paulo. The montage tells the story of the creation of the first support house for people with HIV/AIDS in Brazil. The cast includes names like Verónica Valentino and Marina Mathey, among others. It happens at 8 pm. Before that, at 5 pm, a soirée will take place in Praça das Bibliotecas with artists interpreting works by transgender creators.

Collective exhibition features works that aim to open a dialogue between poetry and imagination, with new approaches to representing the universe that surrounds us. It is possible to buy the works, and the amount collected will be reverted to the NGO SP Invisível, which works with residents and the street and people in situations of social vulnerability.

Football Museum
In addition to opening the exhibition space free of charge, with tickets that can be picked up at the box office at the time of the visit, the museum also offers a series of programs, such as a slackline workshop with world champion Alisson Ferreira, a samba-rock presentation with the band Groove 11 and a storytelling session by the group Rebrincando. It takes place from 10 am.

Young Guard 40 Years
Responsible for some of Jovem Guarda’s greatest hits, such as “Eu Daria a Minha Vida” and “Eu te Amo Even Assim”, singer Martinha joins singer Ary Sanches to celebrate young Sunday afternoons with a show that recalls the four decades premiere of the homonymous program commanded by Roberto Carlos, Erasmo Carlos and Wanderléa.

Show-class with Arrigo Barnabé
One of the main names behind the Vanguarda Paulista movement, musician and composer Arrigo Barnabé teaches a show-class open to the public about his composition process and movement management. On the occasion, he will also perform songs from his main albums, including the historic “Clara Crocodilo”.

Toada do Bardo
The show brings together excerpts from the classic works of William Shakespeare sewn with the help of songs by names such as Chico Buarque de Hollanda, Belchior, Beto Guedes, in addition to other unpublished songs. Actor Maurício Machado heads the cast formed by singers Thiago Pach and Renata Versolato, under the direction of Eduardo Figueiredo. On the 25th, tickets are free. It takes place at 8:30 pm.
