South American Tournament kicks off the CBJJO National Circuit

Held last weekend at the Arena da Juventude, in Deodoro, Rio de Janeiro, the South American Championship of the Brazilian Confederation of Sports Jiu-Jitsu (CBJJO) kicked off the season on the National Circuit of Olympic Jiu-Jitsu.
Among the 18 mat areas available at the event, the highlights by team were GFTeam, Instituto PV and Geração UPP, who took first, second and third place, respectively.
In the black belt disputes, the gold medals went to André Fernandes Baeta, in the adult category; Nilson Ricardo Silva Braga, in masters 1 and 2; and Alberto Ramos de Araújo Oliveira, in master 3.
In addition to the competition, CBJJO also promoted the awarding of the best ranking of the 2021/2022 season. The president of the entity, Walter Matos Nogueira, and the director, Jair Court, celebrated the success of the event.
“We were very pleased with the result and the delivery of expectations generated around the South American Jiu-Jitsu Championship. We confirmed a high standard event, surprising those present with our structure and organization”, said Court.
The entity took the opportunity to invite the athletes to seek the state title in the event that is being scheduled for April. Representative of the CBJJO, Leonardo Marques was also thrilled with the realization of the South American Championship.
“It was an excellent event, I am very happy with the result in terms of structure and organization. To those who are wanting the title of champion of the CBJJO, I am sure that the next championship will be even better”, projected.
