South America Continental Jiu Jitsu Pro returns to Balneário de Camboriú in March

The South America Continental Pro, from AJP (Abu Dhabi Jiu Jitsu Pro), disembarks, for the third consecutive year, in Balneário de Camboriú, Santa Catarina, on March 17th, 18th and 19th. Considered one of the most important stages of the circuit, for offering a double score in the ranking, the event usually receives big stars of international jiu jitsu.

In 2021, for example, Patrick Gaudio, Erich Munis and Fabrício Andrey squandered talent and put on a show on the mats. Last year, Pablo Lavaselli and Pedro Pimenta were the highlights at the top of the podium.

“South America is a different event. It has a whole lot of glamor around it, from the place where it is held to the organization. It is an event that receives athletes from the most diverse countries in the world, this year we should have more than 10 different nationalities. This always gives us pleasant surprises. But at the same time, we always have renowned stars fighting, which ends up being very interesting for everyone involved”, explains Elias Eberhardt, organizer of the AJP in Brazil.

Gentle art enthusiast, the mayor of Balneário de Camboriú, Fabrício Oliveira, also praises the success of the event and reinforces the partnership with the Arab organization. At the end of 2022, he was received by the president of the United Arab Emirates, Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, in Abu Dhabi, and signed a partnership to build a modern training center in the city in Santa Catarina.

“This project in partnership with Abu Dhabi will connect sport, social development and education for the preparation and training of new champions. This will be the best year in the history of our sport”, says the mayor.

Registration for the South America Continental Pro is open until March 10th, and can be done through the AJP website ( In addition to the professional category (adult purple, brown and black belts), the event will have specific days for aspiring competitors (children and teenagers), amateurs (white and blue belts) and masters (over 30 years old).
