Son of Randolfe Rodrigues is arrested for contempt in Amapá

The son of senator Randolfe Rodrigues (no party-AP), Gabriel Marti Cruz Rodrigues, aged 28, was arrested on charges of contempt and disobedience in the early hours of this Saturday (7), in Macapá (AP). He was released after paying bail of R$3,960.00. Gabriel denied the accusations and said he was attacked by military police officers. Randolfe’s son owns a nightclub and promoted a party at Expofeira. Around 3 am, police officers were sent to the scene to close down the party, which had gone beyond the permitted opening hours.

The agents stated that they asked to speak to the owner of the nightclub and Gabriel allegedly told them: “No shitty police officer is going to close my club, you don’t know who you’re talking to… Your uniform isn’t even useful as a floor cloth in the house. of my dog”, informed the Estadão, who had access to the police officers’ testimony. According to the police, the businessman was “extremely upset”, was arrested and resisted.

Therefore, the agents claim that they made “progressive use of force to contain him”. Videos circulating on social media at the time show more than one police officer pushing Randolfe’s son, who tries to react and is knocked down. Gabriel was taken to the police station in handcuffs. During interrogation he denied having disrespected the PMs.

The businessman stated that, according to a local decree, nightclubs can operate until 4 am. He stated that “the offenses reported by the police are not part of his language” and reported having been “offended, threatened and attacked by the police”. The senator’s son told the newspaper Folha de S. Paulo who filed a police report against the police in which he claimed to have been attacked.

“Our event had all the licenses, which said we could operate until 4am. The police officer said it was going to close at 2:45am and that I was supposed to turn off the sound. I went to argue… The confusion started and they arrested me and attacked me. and they threw me on the ground,” Gabriel told Sheet.

In the police report, he stated that he had been the target of verbal abuse and threats. “[Policial] I said that my father was a ‘faggot’ who caused the destruction of Amapá. The other soldier said that no one could take away the beating he gave me”, reported Gabriel. “The police officer took the gun and said ‘you had to be afraid of this'”, he added. People’s Gazette tried to speak to representatives of the Amapá Department of Justice and Public Security about the episode, but was not answered. The space remains open for demonstrations.
