Manaus (AM)- The 1st Alan Nuguette Fight Night Social took place this Saturday (26) and is already considered the biggest solidarity fight event in the North and Northeast of Brazil. With more than 3000 subscribers. The public arrived early at Arena Amadeu Teixeira and were already welcomed by the great champion Alan Nuguette.
With 600 match fights and more than 3,000 athletes registered, the biggest surprise for everyone was the fight of little Daniel Ferreira dos Santos, 10 years old, orange belt, who was stricken with meningitis, in December 2021, and had his life changed by lose your legs.
For the only UFC athlete to do a backflip at the weigh-in and a former street urchin, little Daniel provided the biggest lesson of the day. “There was no athlete to compete in Daniel’s category, even so he was brave and signed up, just seeing this boy winning this fight and competing with an athlete who is not a para-athlete was worth the whole event”, moved Alan Nuguette to the hug and kiss the boy on the podium.
For Daniel’s father and jiu-jitsu master, Klinger dos Santos, his son is his greatest inspiration. “My son, when he came back from the coma and found out he had lost (his legs), he only asked me one question: ‘Dad, will I fight again?’. This is the first competition he participates in after the meningitis and he was champion. He never complains, he just focuses on the fight, I won’t be the one to complain”.
With several attractions, the part for children such as: ball pool, bounce house, trampoline and space for activities, the children enjoyed the fun morning well.
Coming from an international tour, MC Kyra dropped into the Arena with her dancers taking her “Bumbá Funk”, with the participation of Bois de Parintins Garantido and Caprichoso, taking the public to a frenzy.
In the main fight of the event, Alan Nuguette was challenged by purple belt para-athlete, Marcley Monteiro, fighting on equal terms, tying his legs with a white belt.
“That was a great fight. It’s very difficult to fight without your legs, that’s the proof. We have great champions here in Amazonas and Marcely is one of them”.
