‘Revealing for the future’ serves around 700 children in six centers spread across the city of Manaus
Manaus (AM) – The football school ‘Revealing for the future’ is a social project that has included, since the beginning of its training, children and young people who are People with Disabilities (PwD), especially with Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The inaugural class of the school took place in the Alvorada 2 neighborhood and was attended by councilor Eduardo Assis (Avante).
The politician says that the project will complete three years of existence, but that the intention was to promote social inclusion.
“Our job is to make no distinction between boys, girls and those with physical limitations. Inclusion serves, precisely, to be able to grant the opportunity for equality and development. In view of this point of view, we seek to provide full support for each one of them”, she explains.
Project
‘Revealing for the future’ serves around 700 children in six centers spread across the city of Manaus. In the Alvorada 2 neighborhood, there are 180 children and young people participating under the care of specialized teachers.
For Nikolas’ mother, who has autism, the school’s work has helped the 7-year-old boy to not only socialize, but to develop his motor coordination skills.
“We have been on this project for two years and it has been of great benefit and acceptance for my son, because before he did not socialize, he did not participate in anything and today he participates, he goes to championships, he has excelled at school”, he said.
The little school has the support of a multidisciplinary team in the presence of professional speech therapists and physical educators, who carry out specific work as a behavioral process, such as better communication and motor coordination, through games and guidance provided.
