Manaus (AM) – Between the 9th and 15th of March, Millennium Shopping will host the Golden Amazon exhibition, by artist David Noronha, who goes by Negreiro. Visiting the exhibition is open to the public, free of charge, and will take place during the shopping center’s opening hours, from 9:00 to 21:00 during the week and from 12:00 on weekends, in front of the food court.

Millennium’s marketing coordinator, Elizandra Xavier, highlights that the exhibition is an opportunity for the population to get to know and honor a regional artist.

“Encouraging culture is among the main pillars of Millennium. And, receiving the Negreiro exhibition is also a way of contributing to the emergence of new Amazonian talents”, said Elizandra.

Ten paintings will be part of the Golden Amazon exhibition. “The name is a tribute to my late grandfather and the Amazon,” says Negreiro, who has been working as a visual artist for ten years.

He explains that, since childhood, he had the support and influence of his grandfather. “He was the one who encouraged me and put me on my first drawing courses, until, at the age of 16, I started acting professionally”, he comments.

The paintings depict Amazonian animals because they were the first traits taught by his grandfather, who passed away during the pandemic. This was a troubled period for the artist, who ended up redefining himself and adopting his grandfather’s surname as his personal brand.

The tribute extends to the signature of the paintings, made in gold, to immortalize, with each of the artist’s works, the importance of his grandfather, as well as the richness of the Amazon biome.
