The agenda on women will be highlighted in the Senate votes, in the week of National Women’s Day. In this sense, one of the projects scheduled for this Tuesday (7th) is PL 3,878/2020, authored by deputy Alberto Neto (PL), which proposes to give priority to women victims of domestic violence in vacancies intermediated by the National Employment System ( Sine).

The PL establishes a reserve of 10% of Sine vacancies for women under these conditions; if there are no vacancies filled, the remaining ones can be filled by women, and, if not, by the general public. The author’s objective is to encourage women victims of violence to enter the labor market.

The project was approved by the Chamber of Deputies in October 2021. Senator Augusta Brito (PT-CE) is the rapporteur.

Women’s Police Stations

In turn, PL 781/2020, by Senator Rodrigo Cunha (União-AL), returns to the Senate, which proposes more inspection actions for protective measures for women in situations of domestic and family violence and encourages the creation of specialized police stations for assistance to women (Deam) with resources from the National Public Security Fund (FNSP).

The text was sent to the Chamber, where it was approved in the form of a substitute that determines that the federal entities have a period of two years to present a schedule for the creation of specialized police stations for women, including electronic assistance, in addition to investigative centers of femicide and specialized teams. . This implementation should be progressive from the most populous municipalities. As the project was changed by the deputies, it needs a new analysis by the senators.

Approved by the Education Commission (CE), the project to create the National Women’s Entrepreneur Day, which will be celebrated annually on August 17 (PL 6,553/2019), goes to Plenary. For the EC rapporteur for the project, former senator Mailza Gomes, establishing this commemorative date allows society to reflect on the role of women in Brazilian society. The date of August 17 was chosen by the author of the project, congresswoman Carmen Zanotto (Cidadania-SC), to coincide with the State Day of Women Entrepreneurs in Santa Catarina.

Fibromyalgia

Concluding the voting agenda, the Senate should vote on PL 3,525/2019, which determines the supply of medicines and nutritionist treatment by the Unified Health System (SUS) to people with fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue. Currently, people with fibromyalgia or chronic fatigue are entitled to receive comprehensive care from the SUS (including multidisciplinary treatment in the areas of medicine, psychology and physiotherapy) and access to complementary tests and recognized therapies, including physiotherapy and physical activity. Authored by federal deputy Erika Kokay (PT-DF), it had a favorable report by Senator Sérgio Petecão (PSD-AC) in the Social Affairs Commission (CAS) and Senator Angelo Coronel (PSD-BA) in the Economic Affairs Commission (CAE ).
