The Brazilian team landed this Tuesday (18th) in Brisbane, the Australian city that will host the team in the first phase of the Women’s World Cup, which starts on Thursday (20th). The choice of Brisbane as host coincides with the second game of the Brazilians in the group stage, when they will face the French at the local stadium.
The opening of the World Cup will be at 4 am (Brasília time) on Thursday (20), at the Edem Park stadium, in Auckland (New Zealand). Brazil will play all group games in Australia. The debut will be against Panama, for Group F, next Monday (24th), at 8 am (Brasília time), at the Hindmarsh stadium, in Adelaide, almost a 3-hour flight from Brisbane.
The Brazilian crowd was present at the arrival of the delegation at the North Lake Hotel, in Brisbane. The players were greeted with enthusiasm and stopped to sign autographs.
The other matches of the team in the first phase of the World Cup will be against France, on July 29 (Saturday), at 7 am, in Brisbane, and against Jamaica, on August 2 (Wednesday), in Melbourne.
The top two in Group F advance to the round of 16, where they will face the two classified in Group H (Germany, Colombia, South Korea and Morocco). The team with the best record in one bracket will face the runner-up in the other.
