The entirety of the Army’s disciplinary process that freed Eduardo Pazuello from punishment has 17 pages. In summary, it contains the defense of the then active general on his participation in a political act alongside Bolsonaro, in 2021, and, later, the report of the then commander of the Force, Paulo Sergio Nogueira, accepting the arguments.
His defense was made public this Friday (24) in response to a request for the Access to Information Law made by the Sheet and other media outlets, and after the 100-year secrecy decreed by the Bolsonaro administration has fallen.
With that, the CGU (Controladoria-Geral da União) ordered the Army to release the papers to the Sheet and to other citizens who requested them via the Freedom of Information Act.
Pazuello said in the defense that he presented in disciplinary proceedings for having participated in a political act alongside Bolsonaro who warned the then commander of the Army, Paulo Sergio Nogueira, that he would go to the act. In addition, he said that, at the time, he only spoke briefly because he was surprised by the president, who handed him the microphone.
