See how FIFA’s best in the world is voted – 02/27/2023 – Sport

With its seventh edition held this Monday (27), the FIFA The Best award rewards the best players in the world with a jury made up of four groups: team captains; selection technicians; an expert journalist from each territory; and fans from all over the world registered at fifa.com.

Each of the four voter groups has the same weight, regardless of the actual number of voters. That is, the coaches’ votes make up a quarter of the vote. The one for the captains, another one bedroom. And so on.

The votes of coaches, captains and journalists will be published on the FIFA website.

There are also some extra criteria. National team captains can vote for their country’s national team coaches and players.

Captains and coaches nominated for the award cannot vote for themselves.

Specialized journalists, as well as registered fans, can vote for any player.

Each member of the jury chooses three players or coaches that they consider to be the best, from a given list. In the case of the best male player award, for example, the previous list has 11 names.

The first place in the jury’s choice receives 5 points. The second, 3 points. And the third, 1 point.

The score of each athlete is added up. The most voted within a group (journalists, for example) receives 13 points. Second place receives 11, and so on. Finally, the most voted in the sum of the four groups is the winner.
