Security forces in Rio Grande do Norte arrested 174 suspected of participating in attacks in the state. The balance sheet was released this Thursday (23) by the Secretariat for Public Security and Social Defense. During the operations, 42 firearms were also seized; 6 firearm simulacra; 139 explosive devices; 32 gallons of fuel; 14 bikes; 2 cars; money; drugs and ammunition.

According to data released by the secretariat, criminal attacks in the state, both consummated and attempted, decreased by 98%. This Wednesday (22), two attacks were recorded. On Tuesday (14) there were 104 attacks; on Wednesday (15): 68; on Thursday (16): 57; on Friday (17): 29; on Saturday (18): 17; on Sunday (19): 7; in the second (20): 10; and on Tuesday (21): 8.

The National Mechanism for the Prevention and Combat of Torture (MNPCT), linked to the Ministry of Human Rights and Citizenship, released this Wednesday (22) the final report on the situation of the prison system in Rio Grande do Norte. “The document brings 138 recommendations to the competent authorities, from different powers and levels of the Republic, and reveals the existence of various forms of mistreatment and physical and psychological torture, in addition to pointing out vulnerabilities that point to violations of the rights of persons deprived of liberty. ”, said the folder in a note.

In releasing the report, the board condemned recent attacks by criminals across the state. “The MNPCT registers its repudiation of all manifestations and actions referring to the practice of violence and deaths. We express solidarity and regret to the entire population of North Rio Grande who has been experiencing a wave of violence that has claimed fatalities,” says the note.
