The Secretariat for Penitentiary Administration (Seap) of the Federal District sent a letter to the Federal Supreme Court (STF) on Friday night (28) in which it says that it is up to the Military Police to report on the health status of the former Secretary of Security Public of DF Anderson Torres. The answer was sent after Minister Alexandre de Moraes asked to comment on the possible need to transfer Torres to a penitentiary hospital.

According to the secretariat, due to the prerogatives of a Federal Police delegate, he is not under the authority of the body, and it is up to the PM to provide “any assistance” to the former minister, informed Agência Brasil. “Considering the narrated context, we inform you that it is not possible for this secretariat to comply with the imposed determination, however, in view of the urgency of the case, demonstrated by the short deadline for a response, we forwarded it to the general command of the Military Police of the DF, advising on the decision and the need in response to this Supreme Court,” wrote the secretary.

In the same decision in which he asked the secretariat for information, Moraes determined that he be informed whether the Military Police’s Operational Aviation Battalion, where Torres has been imprisoned since January, is in a position to guarantee the former minister’s health. The decision was handed down after Torres’ defense attributed “lapses of memory” to the delivery of invalid cell phone and cloud storage passwords for the investigation by the Federal Police (PF) that investigates the acts of January 8.
