Parintins (AM) – In yet another action to popularize science, the Government of Amazonas, through the Amazonas State Research Support Foundation (Fapeam), promotes the 2nd Cultural Technical-Scientific Fair: Science at School. The event will be held at Praça São Benedito, on Friday (24), in the municipality of Parintins (369 kilometers from Manaus).
The activity receives support from Fapeam, via the Support Program for the Popularization of Science, Technology and Innovation (POP CT&I) – Notice 004/2023, and is coordinated by Camila Ferreira Braga, deputy pedagogical coordinator of the Regional Education of Parintins/Seduc .
The main objective of the Fair is to popularize scientific and technological innovation projects developed in state schools in Parintins, enabling society to have access to scientific knowledge and the appreciation of Science and scientific education, produced within schools.
“It is to demonstrate, through scientific and technological innovation projects carried out in the state network, the importance of disseminating scientific production developed in schools, as well as the engagement of students and teachers with science and its popularization”,
explains Camila Braga.
At the fair, exhibitions of the final results of scientific projects from different areas of knowledge, developed by students and teachers from the state network, will be seen. The projects will be exhibited by students and teachers.
For the person responsible for the action, the event is of utmost importance to encourage scientific production in the Parintins school environment, and the creation of new educational practices and strategies for scientific culture and education.
“We believe that its implementation will become an educational practice aimed at the dissemination and circulation of scientific knowledge, increasingly integrating the community with access to information and reflection on emerging issues of a social and scientific nature”,
stressed Camila Braga.
She also highlighted that educators are constantly searching for strategies and methods to improve successful actions and projects across the most diverse aspects of knowledge.
“Science fairs present themselves as a valuable methodological resource and educational strategy that lead students and teachers to observe their surroundings from a scientific perspective and allow society access to scientific knowledge”,
highlights Camila.
Impacts
Camila Braga believes that the 2nd Technical-Scientific Fair: Science at School will generate positive impacts on schools and society in Parintins, through exhibitions of scientific work developed by students and teachers from the state education network.
“The main expected impact is to bring society closer to scientific knowledge and all social, political, economic and cultural issues that will permeate the works presented”,
Camila observed.
She also highlighted that with the action, it is expected, through the dissemination of knowledge, to awaken the community’s interest in analyzing their daily lives through a scientific bias and understanding that science needs to be part of everyone’s lives in resolutions of social problems, generating quality of life.
“We seek to impact the school environment, making students and teachers understand that without Science there is no educational progress. That through science we can improve the quality of teaching and, consequently, its results can impact improvements for society”,
emphasized the coordinator.
Camila took the opportunity to highlight Fapeam’s support, highlighting that the institution, as a promoter, was the main foundation for the implementation of the project embraced by all schools. Your participation makes this event a pioneer in scientific dissemination for schools in the Parintins state network.
“We hope that, in the future, we will continue with the support and partnership of this esteemed institution”,
concluded Camila Braga.
