The Workers’ Party (PT) had denounced the director, alleging that he had expressed racist arguments when he conveyed to listeners journalist JR Guzzo’s idea that the North and Northeast regions, with the highest number of votes for Lula, would be on the “side of of delay”. He had been out of office since January 4 of this year.

Gabardo said he expects to return to work this May. For now, he has not been able to return to activities because he is undergoing health treatment. “I’m taking care of my health. I ended up developing depression. I have to put my head in order. A lot has happened in that time. After 20 years as a director, I never thought I’d be fired for reading an article,” he said.

According to the director of the school, in the disciplinary administrative process, no racial crime was found and there was consent to political persecution against him. “There was no crime, everyone knew that. What weighed heavily was the political persecution. Many people from politics got involved,” he declared. “But I’m on the mend. I’m getting my head together. People in the city are supporting me and the school is looking forward to my return,” he added.

So far, the Secretary of State for Education of Rio Grande do Sul has not returned to the report.
