With the tax concession to more than 64 companies, the forecast is that 2 thousand new jobs will be created
Manaus (AM) – During the announcement of the granting of tax incentives to companies in the Manaus Free Trade Zone (ZFM), at the headquarters of the Federation of Industries of Amazonas (Fieam), federal deputy Saullo Vianna (União Brasil) reaffirmed, this Friday (17), commitment to the economic model.
At the headquarters of Fieam, Governor Wilson Lima signed decrees granting tax incentives to 64 companies in the Industrial Pole of Manaus (PIM). The forecast is that 2,000 new jobs will be created.
Despite the favorable projection with this initiative, the Tax Reform and the concern with the future of the Manaus Free Trade Zone were the center of the debates among those present. Saullo Vianna, who is one of the 12 members of the Working Group of the Federal Chamber created to analyze the PEC 45/2019, said that the main objective is to make the National Congress understand that the Free Trade Zone model is important not only for Amazonas , and yes, for the whole country.
“This discussion of the Tax Reform, as it is today, hurts the Manaus Free Trade Zone to death. Therefore, our role is to defend, in the National Congress, the permanence of the fiscal incentives that we have in the Industrial Pole. The exceptional features of the PIM need to be maintained, so that we can ensure jobs and, above all, the forest standing”, highlighted Saullo.
The president of Fieam, Antonio Silva, took the opportunity to say that Amazonas needs to have a unique speech in defense of the competitive advantages of the Industrial Pole of Manaus, guaranteed in the Federal Constitution. “Everyone needs to be heard and from that, we have to build a single line to defend the incentives we have here.”
