Sapporo celebrates Year of the Dragon with special packaging – 01/10/2024 – Full Glass

The Chinese New Year only arrives in February, but Sapporo, which is a brewery of Japanese origin, has already launched its tribute, and only in the United States — reflections of the globalized world.
In 2024, we are entering the Year of the Dragon, a symbol of power and luck for the Chinese. To celebrate the date, Sapporo Premium teamed up with famous tattoo artist Tokyo Hiro to launch new art in the pack of six cans — and in a more limited edition in the brass packaging.
In the illustration by Hiro, who lives in San Francisco (USA), two dragons intertwine: one with its mouth open, to ward off evil spirits; and another with his mouth closed, to hold back the good ones. Together, they represent the beginning of one year and the end of another.
“When I was learning to tattoo from Bob Roberts of Tattoo Spotlight, he always told me, ‘East meets West, that’s your style,'” says Hiro. “I feel very lucky to work with Sapporo on this project because we understand what it means.”
Founded in 1876, Sapporo is Japan’s oldest beer brand in operation. It is also the best-selling in the United States among Asians. There, in addition to Sapporo Premium, you can find other labels, such as Sapporo Premium Black, Premium Light, Reserve and Pure.
