Rosa Weber will visit the National Library to deliver the Constitution in indigenous language – 08/23/2023 – Panel

President of the Federal Supreme Court, Minister Rosa Weber will be at the National Library on Friday (25) to deliver to the president of the foundation, Professor Marco Lucchesi, a copy of the Constitution in Nheengatu, the general Amazonian language, originally from Tupi.
A member of the Brazilian Academy of Letters, Lucchesi specializes in indigenous issues and was the curator of the Constitution translation project carried out by indigenous professionals based on an initiative by the STF.
It is the first time in 100 years that the National Library receives the leadership of the Judiciary. The last record was the death of Rui Barbosa, a character who symbolically unites the two institutions: his bust is installed in both —the STF version was recently restored after the acts of vandalism on January 8.
