Ronaldo forwards sale of 20% of SAF do Cruzeiro to advisor

Owner of 90% of SAF do Cruzeiro, Ronaldo Nazário will have a partner in the management of the club. The negotiation for the sale of 20% of Cruzeirense football is at an advanced stage and will be completed soon.

The buyer is businessman Pedro Lourenço, an old acquaintance of the Celeste fans. Pedrinho do BH, as he is known, is a club advisor and team sponsor. The information was disclosed by the newspaper Estado de Minas, and confirmed by UOL.

Owner of Supermercado BH, Pedro Lourenço has been close to Cruzeiro football for a long time, even before Ronaldo joined. In addition to the sponsorship, the businessman has already lent money to the Celeste club and helped with the signing of players. Since Cruzeiro became SAF, Pedrinho has maintained a good relationship with the Phenomenon and helped reinforce Toca da Raposa II, the Training Center for the main men’s team.

VALUE KEPT IN CONFIDENTIALITY

While the negotiation is not finalized, the two parties avoid talking about the values ​​of the sale of 20% of SAF do Cruzeiro. In December 2021, Ronaldo bought 90% of Cruzeirense football for R$ 400 million. The Phenomenon made an initial contribution of BRL 50 million and the BRL 350 million will only be invested in the club if Cruzeirense revenue does not grow in the coming seasons.

However, when Ronaldo bought 90% of the SAF, Cruzeiro would compete in Série B of the Campeonato Brasileiro for the third consecutive season. Just over a year after taking charge of the club, the situation is already very different. Raposa is back in Série A do Brasileiro and has a much better squad than it had a few months ago.

With the new division, Ronaldo will own 70% of Cruzeiro’s SAF, Pedrinho will own 20% and the club itself will continue with 10%.
